Woven Journals

Kristin Kuhns recent work titled, "Woven Journals" is a collection of studio work created since the onset of the Covid 19 Pandemic.
While staying close to home, she and her family took comfort in their regular walks at the nearby Minto Brown Park. This local landscape has been a familiar place of respite and exercise in Kuhns' life for decades.
Even though Minto Brown was familiar, the subtext of living during a global pandemic was not. The woods and open spaces were known, yet the experience was distorted by the sense of something wrong, something off. In the peripheral view there is something distracting.
While weaving contrasting images of comfort and disturbance, written notes and thoughts are journaled as well within the woven patterns.
